Pupils forced to exercise as pies and lollies banned

The West Australian:

"Under the plan announced yesterday, all pupils at government schools from Year 1 to Year 10 will have to do two hours physical activity a week. Currently there is no mandatory requirement for schoolchildren to exercise at school, though most schools have physical activity programs."

Western Australia does not muck about!! Poor children. Fancy having to exercise for 2 hours a week and the schools have to report on how they are doing that because no extra staff are provided. 24 minutes a day of moving. On top of that sugary and fatty foods are being discontinued at the school canteens. Well... the no nonsense approach will get them going!! Good on them. Well done.
