Pilots plan to stop Qantas takeover.

Pilots plan to stop Qantas takeover. :

"'It's a matter of real pride and it's also a matter of reputation and also a concern for the travelling public.'"

The pilots and the Prime Minister are a clear indication about where we polarise. The Prime Minister supports economic rationalism so who cares who spends what money as long as they make the decision and they are okay with that. Free enterprise. The pilots are about the pride we have in our national/international airline. Qantas has been our airline and our signature. Qantas owned by overseas interests would not be us. The pilots want us to have our own airline we can be proud of. Qantas has had to battle on a number of fronts and it has survived and revived and reinvented itself with a great deal of setermination and dignity. It's ready to relaunch itself again and it is desirable we would want to be proud of it as our airline, not that we would want Qantas to be any old airline. It really is a pity the Prime Minister cannot see the value in us having an airline which represents the way we do things, the way we treat people and becomes a successful airline we have promoted and encouraged to be the signature Austrlain airline. We won't keep our Qantas unless our nation gets behind it.
