Reward offered for information on tree vandals. :

"Herbicide was poured on the ghost gum earlier this month and it is unlikely it will survive."

I cannot imagine an Australian poisoning a gum tree even if this one is the birthplace of the Australian Labour Party. Our country is becoming quite horrible. There is a nastiness we we do not have which is becoming part of our daily life and workplace. Gum tree poisoning seems to be the thing at the moment. We have always lived with our gum trees. They are part of us and our landscape. I cannot see us poisoning them. An Austrlain would axe or chain saw a tree. Herbicide is not us. I hope they find out what the herbicide is and who did it because we need to save the tree. You see, Australians care about whether their trees die...and gum trees are us and there has been vandalism to some pretty significant trees lately. Why is that and why would we do that to our heritage and our landscape. I hope they can get to the bottom of this. Our koalas need the gum trees too...
