Govt changes rules on non-urban water usage. :
"Stormwater and groundwater will be used to irrigate public areas in Canberra under a new scheme being developed by the ACT Government.
The Government had placed a moratorium on the use of non-urban water sources while it examined a longer term policy for water use."
What are non urban water sources? Rivers? Country streams? Do city dwellers acces water outside the city apart from man made dams? I don't understand that bit but I really, really think we need to look at all the water which cannot escape from cities and which can cause flooding. It needs to be redirected so we can use it as a source of water in the city. I can't really imagine massive rain water tanks in the city, but when you see the rain pour and it is just pooling on concrete and eventally going downhill as all water does we seriously need to apply ourselves to find a way of trapping this water for recycling. Concrete, bitumen, glass, steel and cement are not helping us to live on an organic planet.
