Fresh fruit

Lunch time was interesting today. Six of us were eating lunch. After our sandwich/roll/salad we all got our fruit out. One lady had a persimmon from her tree and we were all jealous because it looked so juicy and delicious. Once lady kept cutting the brown bits from her supermarket apple and finally got a good bit in the middle. I had supermarket pears and they were nice but crunchy! Another man was trying to deal with the soft and brown bits on his supermarket apple and another man was eating a really juicy, healthy looking apple. We started talking about what fruit we grew and then how we sourced our fruit and veg and how fed up we were with poor quality "fresh" food.

So then we started swapping our ideas about where to shop for the freshest produce because it tasted better and kept better. We were also deciding whether we should plant more fruit trees and hadn't actually finished that conversation so we all have something to mull about. The difference in produce was astoundingly obvious. We couldn't have organised a better ad for fresh food!!
