Rats beset hospital

Rats beset hospital:

"'We put baits down but the bait is not getting touched because why would you eat bait when you can eat food?' a spokesman said.

Council spokesman Nat Bradford said the hospital and its grounds were not council property. '(But) the widespread coverage of Adelaide as a city with a rat problem is a reputation issue for the city as a whole,' Mr Bradford said."

Where are the rats coming from? The rains we have had have no doubt chased them into warmer and cosier quarters in the city. To densy there is a problem is simply that. Denial. If we have rats outside the Royal Adelaide Hospital, guess what? We have rats in the city. The RAH has rats. So, come on folks, let's fix it. People eating need to be told to put things in a bin. The bins need to be emptied. If the rats won't take bait, what else can be done? Traps are hard to use in a public area. But please do not pretend it is not a problem and it's not there. Rats in the city. Lovely.
