Record trade deficit 'a glitch'. :

"The trade deficit on goods and services for January is $2.69 billion.

That is $1.5 billion more than the December figure and the biggest deficit since November 2004."

Giving the deficit a harmless name will not diminish the severity of its impact. If we ran our finances on "glitches" our financial advisers would be telling us off, straightening us out, telling us to get real and reading our horoscope. Financial competence doesn't run on glitches.
