Just as I was writing yesterday about us wearing thongs and what great wallopers they were for the unsuspecting, unwelcome creepy, crawling slithery things we get around and about, I found an article today about thongs as part of a dress code. We do want to wear them when it gets really hot. We have standing orders at work not to wear them for OHS reasons...but I run home and it's straight into the flip flops on a hot day. You can get some very nice "dress" ones, but as someone said in this article, it's outrageous if someone tries to charge more that 20 dollars for thongs. My most expensive pair cost me 10 dollars and I can't say they are better than my two dollar flip flops. There is also discussion in this article about how venues and workplaces run sexist policies with regard to thongs....women can get away with them as part of a fashion statement , but men can't!!! I think we need to sort that one out, folks! Thongs are, though, really taking over and even normal office shoes are being challenged in favour of thongs. It's quite a revolution over here. People don't want to be shoed in.
