Relay for Life in Iraq

Stars & Stripes:

"“Although busy with our construction effort for Operation Iraqi Freedom III, still Seabees volunteered and participated in this occasion, all for a cause,” Petty Officer 1st Class Majellen Quezon, who helped organize the event in Iraq."

Well, that's something to be proud of and hidden away on some site..out of sight. Can't the news tell us GOOD news. US Navy Seabees raised over $5,176.88 for cancer research form their first(and I'd like to think last)Relay for Life in Iraq. That is really something. The Americans have been doing the Relay for Life since 1985. One of our big cancer research fundraisers is the biggest ever morning tea. All sorts of places organise the fund raising morning teas and, like the relay, it's a good, sociable thing.
