'Made in Australia' trademark bid.

Govt urged to thwart 'Made in Australia' trademark bid. :

"The New South Wales Government has raised concerns about an application to trademark the label 'Made in Australia'."

I knew it, the world has gone bonkers. So who has put in the trademark bid for "Made in Australia" and why would you do that? If the application is approved then I shall know we are quite, quite mad and have seriously lost it. We constantly turn meaning into nonsense. If it is approved, then we shall not lose confidence in our products, we shall be even more suspicious and ask even more questions and we shall think of something like "Entirely conceived and produced in Australia."We are so annoying when we ask questions. I cannot think why someone would want to trademark it. Thing is, we have some great products, especially our food and I know it's silly of us, but we like good tasting food. We eat crap too, don't get me wrong, but when we want good it's there and our products are great. There are times too when I want German biscuits or French jam or whatever, so I need to have a "made in" label that makes sense. It's such a load of piffle we keep having to find the work arounds for people who do odd things either because they can or because they want to. It's too lucdicrous for words, but I'm not speechless as yet. I think we need a law to protect us from the irrational.
