China invented noodles.

Slurping first: China invented noodles. :

"They discovered 4,000-year-old long, boiled strands of noodles protected by an upside-down bowl, embedded in a fine, brownish-yellow clay on a terrace of the Yellow River at Lajia, north-western China."

The first noodles were made from millet, which is very good for you. We should have millet noodles again, because it's not that exciting as a cereal but would probably make a good nutritious noodle. The original noodles were like Li-Mian noodles..so they were pretty special. I have heard many a story of Australian tourists surving on their packets of noodles! They are cheap, handy, filling. We had a good range of noodles, but sadly some of them seem to have disappeared from the shelves, which is why I like going to the Asian shops in the markets. They are a noodle wonderland!
