Confliction Views?

So what exactly are confliction views? I should hope we don't agree with torture. If we do then the media have the power to change public opinion and values in a big way. We obviously cannot think for ourselves any longer. A number of online dictionaries refer to confliction as a noun but they all use CONFLICT in their examples. There are no examples I can find of confliction.

"This point is interpreted as a fundamental confliction of the convexity for f(x) with the metric properties for its associated f-divergence. Therefore, we relax the convexity of f(x) and replace it with other constraints to create new metrics."
