Man 'groomed girls via chatrooms'

Man 'groomed girls via chatrooms': "The offences were allegedly committed against 13 girls aged between 12 and 17 years in various locations across NSW and the ACT, police say."

I am glad they have caught him and I hope they catch the others who are like him...but he girls need to be sorted out for not protecting themselves better. They are old enough to have some idea of how to manage personal safety. We were talking at work today about how destructive and tacky computers have made our lives. Things which come with computers are creating horrible situations, undermining community safety and general order. There is a strong element of computing which creates forces to bring social fabric apart and nothing is safe and nothing is sacred. It is just anti social all the way. There are things which hurt , harm and destroy people. There are things which undermine social order and there are things which create behaviours which end up costing a lot of time and money. Time and money which could be put into positive initiatives. Pretty sad really. One day we'll sit down and use a computer to work out how much this is costing us with or without the anti social, destructive muck. Even positively used they are eating up time, cash and carbon.
