US peacekeeping envoy arrives in Kenya

US peacekeeping envoy arrives in Kenya - : "US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Jendayi Frazer has arrived in Kenya for talks aimed at finding a way out of the country's violent post-electoral crisis, airport sources said."

With the British anti-terrorist police going over to Pakistan and Jendayi Frazer going over to Kenya from America then the world is saying that it is prepared to work alongside troubled nations. It's holding out a hand of friendship from a stable base. There is no reason in this day and age why we should remain insular, critical and isolated in our self satisfaction. It is creating a decent platform for lasting ties because that's what friends are for...not to be there for the fair weather, but to be there when your back is against the wall and you cannot see your way out of it. Condemnation does not resolve anything. The only way out of a crisis is to take action and to create the actions which will move things in a positive direction. It would be great if 2008 could be the year where we resolve things amicably in the way friends do...and that means hanging in there for the hard yards.
