"Gary Hebberman from Jamestown, in the state's mid-north, used the marathon to raise money for his local sporting complex and a childhood cancer charity."
What a hero. The record is unofficial because he gave ALL the money raised to charity for a local sporting complex and childhood cancer. He would have had to pay officials from the Guiness Book of records had he wanted an official record. Well, Gary Hebberman is officially a hero!! Shearing 1054 Merino sheep in 40 hours is an astronomical feat. Merinos have VERY thick wool. They are so fat and woolly!! He'd have to be tough, strong and invincible to do over a thousand in 40 hours...and then not to think of himself makes me proud to share my home state with this person. What a legend.
