AdelaideNow... Hill rules out new water plant:
"'We certainly are investigating one for the Port Augusta-Whyalla area and to serve Roxby Downs. That will take some pressure off the Murray.'"
Yep, yep, yep, keep the uranium mines going, at all costs. Come on!! I agree, I hate it when it doesn't rain and then, when it does you see all this water pooling and rushing down the drains and off the roof tops...heaps of it. We really do need to think about how we are going to utilise our storm water. We have come up with some great ideas so far and they are really worthy of us, especially the wetlands. That is so sensible and so beautiful and so us. But there is no reason why we cannot be pioneering and utilising desalination technology along side it. It is something we can get ahead on , we can investigate and we can develop both as a help to us and a help to the rest of Australia/the world. Adelaide is good at pioneering technology for the reasons I have said before. We are big enough to be a good testing ground and not so big we will cause major stuff ups when things go awry. The hills could do with a water plant and if we are going to have to fight bush fires because we have hideous, antisocial creatures who think it's fun to light a fire...then we need water. What's the point of us all doing the right thing when some creep lights a fire and all that water we saved is poured onto the fire?? I think we can do more than one thing at once with regard to water. It's called multitasking.
