Hen turns into cock

The Age:

"A hen on a property near Bristol, England, has turned into a cockerel _ after eight months of laying eggs. Freaky the chicken has sprouted a comb, crows at dawn, fights with other cocks and tries to mate with hens. His condition is caused by high testosterone levels."

So where did the excess testosterone come from? Bit of a cock up I'd say.
