Talks cancelled after Rice and Japanese envoy pull out

Talks cancelled after Rice and Japanese envoy pull out - :

"The cancellation of Dr Rice's visit has also cast doubt on the success of the first meeting of the Asia-Pacific Partnership for Clean Development and Climate later this week.

Australia, the US, Japan, South Korea, China and India agreed last year to work together on finding technological solutions to global warming. Ministers from Japan, China, South Korea and India will still attend the meeting, as will the US Energy Secretary, Samuel Bodman."

The security talks between Japan, the United States and Australia will not go ahead and are supposed to be rescheduled for March. Why the meeting for the Asia-Pacific Partnership for Clean Development and Climate later this week should be thought of as less successful because Dr. Rice is not at the at meeting, I am unsure. Ohter minister from other countries will be there and the US Energy Secretary, Samuel Bodman will be there. Surely these people can make sensible decisions or frameworks for thei countries and set attainable goals for the Asia-Pacific Partnership? THat's what we need...some goals. It's not that hard, because the climate, scientific, ecological, and biodiversity experts have some pretty useful statistics which the ministers of these countries can discuss and use.
