Clinton secures price slash on AIDS drugs.

Clinton secures price slash on AIDS drugs. :

"Under the deal, four companies from China, India, Israel and the US will offer rapid HIV tests for between 65 and 87 cents each.

The Clinton Foundation has also negotiated 30 per cent price cuts on drugs used on patients who have become resistant to first-line medications or who develop severe side effects."

To reduce the cost of treating AIDS is a major breakthrough and a breakthough which I hope the Clinton Foundation will be able to use to help those countries where AIDS is rife. It is awful to read about children being born with it and adults dying at such a young age. This current achievement will help reduce the cost of diagnosis and apparently 90% of people affected are unaware they have it. We really do need to work as a world on world issues and I do not see why 2006 cannot be the year we do it.
