Boy heroes' rescue

Boy heroes rescue 'shark attack' victims:

"'Ben and this other man were carrying this guy over their shoulders, and while this other man was staggering to shore I was helping him,' Liam said.

Three other children they were staying with, including Liam's nine-year-old sister Gemma, warmed the men with blankets until ambulance officers arrived to take them to hospital."

Liam and cousin Ben , thought little of their own safety when they went to rescue the two men who had got into trouble riding power skies. One seems like he was in a bad way and the action of the boys, when they heard the screaming, was tremendous, even if they might get a lecture about safety now. Were it not for the boys, the two men might be lost. It's a tough call, as a parent. In any case, the other children on the beach rallied pretty fast to provide basic first aid for the rescued men while the mother organised an ambulance. When you are surrounded by such community minded children - Ben was 12 and Liam starts year 7 this year, you feel reassured not all is lost witht he world and that the parents can be enormously proud of bringing up their children to be such competent, plucky children.
