New hoon laws

I believe today is the day the new hoon laws come in with much stronger penalties for wheelies, dragging and......loud music!! Loud music may be a pain but it is not life threatening. Adelaide can't stand noise. People have moved into apartments in town because of the "lifestyle" and have spent all their time complaining about noise from pubs and entertainment venues. Did they think everyone would be whispering in pubs because they moved in? Adelaide used to complain about the noise of the Grand Prix. No wonder Melbourne got it. Did you hear the roar of the Melbourne crowd at the cricket yesterday? Melbourne knows how to rock. Adelaide used to. Now we like it quiet. Very quiet. On the up side it means you can come here to relax and really unwind and get away from it all and you hear the crash of the ocean and the birds screeching in the trees. We have lots of parrots. You can just be who you are , doing what you want. I confess that is a nice thing.

As for the hoons, well, as I said in an earlier post, when they changed the speed limit on this side of the road to 50km, it was like an invitation to crash and burn. The bus stop got wiped out the other day and my garden it still recovering from the 17 year old onslaught before Christmas. The neighbour's house is only just being fixed today. So, tonight, with the new laws, it sounds as though they have taken the silencers off their engines. They are rip roaring tonight. So, the new laws mean nothing as yet. Catch me if you can still prevails.
