I do like to be beside the seaside

It was another cold, wintery day in Adelaide. So over it already so the plan was to shop and then go to Jetty Road, Brighton for lunch. We had a plan for the shopping so that went well and it was an easy drive away from Marion to a quieter, more sedate Jetty Road. Parking was was a breeze. It was raining as we arrived but it was the perfect environment for our lunch plan. We were reasonably sheltered by  the shops as we walked down to the beach front. It looked nice and the views down the south coast were spectacular. Dads were taking their primary school age children for walks on the beach. It was really enjoyable because the rain lightened up. Some of the cafes allow dogs in the outside areas and will supply bowls of water for the four legged friends. The few dogs we saw were in top condition and beautifully behaved. It was nice to see people really being able to make the most of the area. We stopped at the Beach Pit for lunch on the recommendation of a friend. They do great fish and chips which was what our plan was for our lunch at the beach front. The Beach Pit has a good menu with a variety of prices and alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. It is well maintained and the service is efficient and friendly, so it made a pleasant interlude on a rainy day. On the way back to the car we couldn't resist popping into the Copenhagen ice creamery for a single Capuccino cone. It was brilliant. Again, the service was warm and friendly and we could sit in lovely surroundings enjoying the ice cream. That's how you do winter in Adelaide!
