Smoking

Department of Health and Ageing secretary Jane Halton says in the directive that the ban is part of her "ongoing commitment to help staff tackle a range of lifestyle health and wellbeing issues".

There is no doubt about the fact that peer pressure has practically made smoking illegal. It is a group which has been solidly targetted. I am happy no one smokes at work and that the smokers go elsewhere. I am happy I can eat and there is no smoke, travel and there is no smoke and watch a film and there is no smoke. But society has done sod all about the drinkers and drug takers , non prescription or otherwise.  People drink at work and who cares? It's "sociable". Our tolerance of alcohol and drugs is truly hypocritical.
